Sky Talk and Observing Event
New Jersey State Museum, Trenton
Start the night with a sky talk at the planetarium, good for science lovers 10 and up. Then, everyone will form a convoy to drive up to the observatory at Washington Crossing State Park in Titusville (about a 20-minute drive) for star observations with members of the Amateur Astronomy Association of Princeton. If the weather isn’t clear, you’ll stay at the planetarium for a free showing of “5000 Eyes: Mapping the Universe with DESI” following the talk.

There will be seasonal sensory tables set up, with pumpkin slime and other hands-on sensory experiences. You can pay to paint a pumpkin, or buypumpkin-themed souvenirs from the gift shop. You can also tune into the aquarium’s “What Goes Bump in the Midnight Zone” show, which focuses on animals that live in the depths of the ocean.
