This Korean fantasy action webtoon is a typical "shounen" story where you have a kind, caring 17/18 year old high school character who has a hidden ability that he needs to navigate and along with friends/mentor tries becomes stronger. He meets his mentor along the way and becomes his disciple, however the catch is one of THE strongest disguised as a cat. If you are looking for a non-complex story then pls read.

The good:
The art, premise, story and characters are enjoyable. The action is pretty great too. It has a good combination of angst/drama but also comedic moments. Honestly the top parts of Eleceed I extremely enjoy is the aspect of the characters being such cat lovers, the cute cats, cute faces the main characters make when they interact with each other and the friendships that Jiwoo accumulates!!!
I looooveee the friendship group dynamic between Jiwoo, Wooin, Jisuk and Subin and how protective they are of Jiwoo the main character LOL. But also how other characters are protective and show care for Jiwoo. It's so funny that Jiwoo is able to create (collect) friends/relationships using his kind, caring characteristic traits whenever he meets someone who doesn't like him at first and wants to fight him.
I love the mentor/desciple relationship between Jiwoo and Kayden.

The not so good:
The story is not complex and although the characters do have character development I feel like we have a long way to go before Jiwoo has to no longer lean on Kayden. Furthermore, it....tend to get repetitive...but honestly there are other parts of this story that makes up for it. Soooo yeah there can be some improvements here and there....

Side note:
This is by the same author as Noblesse so I expect this story to honestly go on for 600+ at the pace it is going. BTW if you were wondering what the title of this webtoon means it's a combination of Electricity and Speed (a combination of the two abilities between Jiwoo and Kayden). (this review written currently on 130+ chapters).

This is a goofy sweet Manhwa that also has action. The story mainly focuses on MC as he tries to become stronger with his cat tutor but he is a super sweet guy who makes friends wherever he goes. The friendly banter is funny and cute and action scenes are cool too with the amazing art style. There isn't much focus on antagonists as they are either mysterious or don't stay around long so most of it is just MC and his friends fun moments. There is an overaching story but its slow and I don't care for it as I just want more slice of life of MC and friends.

Take what could've been a generic shounen and vastly improve it by adding in cute cats and wholesome friendships. The only downside is the mc's overly generous plot armor, which protects him from getting killed after he bites off more than he can chew several times. One solution for this is to send in threats that are difficult, but surmountable with some cleverness, but then the mc's op mentor wouldn't have a chance to shine I guess. As a result, the mc, who's a moped in this world, occasionally goes up against Ducatis, and there's no tension at all about how he can win. Just wait for the mc's Dodge Tomahawk guardians to come in and curbstomp the enemies.

If shounen fights, cats, bromance bordering on fujoshi bait, and fun comedic moments interest you, then read this.

The characters aren't bad (even though I'm not much a fan of the main character, Jiwoo), the actions scenes are fun to watch, the art is perhaps better as wallpaper than in actual part of the story (the characters and background don't often match making the viewing a bit disconcerted) and of course the comedic timing is very top notch.

However, the plot and overall worldbuilding is just so bad/underwhelming that it ruins whatever serious immersion you're trying to get at. The main problem with the toon is how painfully unimaginative it is with its premise. The power system is this toon is inconsistent and pretty bland, everyone iwho is "Awakened" is seemingly supposed to have a different power, but four or five characters use the same wind or gravity manipulation.

The dialogue between the characters is great actually, but not when it has to progress the story. It's just sloppy all around, the webtoon is fun and sure, I'll recommend it but after the slow start I thought the story/writing will flesh itself out and...no, I was disappointed, the nadir was in the Academy arc. I'm currently on chapter 118 of the 154 chapters that have been currently released, so I think the story is what it is. Anyway, if you want to look at how a power system or specific powers can be used creatively, look no further than the JoJo series. That series is not as focused on dialogue and character development that Eleceed is trying to do but as a battle comic (manga/manhwa), it's much better.

Characters: 6/10
`-Jisuk is pretty annoying but the rest of the cast is actually not that bad for such a poorly written story. However, again, the potential of the main supporting characters is underwhelming especially with Subin Lee, she has the most unique character design in this series as a main supporting character but she's underutilized.

-But that's just nitpicking so why is the score "only" a 6? Well, the such a clumsy worldbuilding/power system, the focus is unfortunately placed solely on it and leaves the most of the characters curiously undeveloped, like the aforementioned Subin Lee and leads to outlandish logic in character interactions most of the time..

-Kayden (the cat) is great (but again because of the poor writing he's often used as plot armor for the MC just to show off how cool and good looking he is, defying the logic of his character plot) but the main character is a bit irksome to me. The writer wants him to be cute and relatable, but he comes off moe as a soft, pushover who's kindness is well over the top (at one point, in the academy arc, the other characters felt it was "fake", I don't blame them)

Art: 7.5/10
- Everyone already mentions it alreafy but the art is very good. unfortunately, nearly all of the focus is on closeups of all the people's faces so the background can tend to look poorly drawn and/or everyone sort of has the dame body type, so their interaction with the environment can look awkward. Still if your're looking for art full of pretty faces and handsome boys (not my cup of tea but I'm not criticizing it), than this is the webcomic for you

Story: 6.5/10
- This score looks harsher than the actual reality. There is no overarching plot which is perfectly fine, the problem is that the numerous subplots are often...just okay, not memorable outside of the fantastic art.

World building/Power system: 3/10
- My main gripe. It's so bad and unimaginative. How does wind on your feet make you automatically faster? What about non-combat powers? hey're hardly seen or used.

Summary: 6.5/10
- Have fun reading it, you'll laugh alright but definitely not anything you have to clear time for to read.

I the art is too amateurish:
1)There are many noob mistakes on perspective , characters with inconsistent heights ...(just look at were the horizon line cuts each character).Its clear the charters are drawn separate from the background and then pasted separately.
2)Similarly many characters and the mc are based on heavily photo shopped Korean models end up looking like mr potato .It's clear that first draws a white oval face with hair and ears and then pastes the eyes/mouth over that. Its funny how many elements are omitted and how the thing changes when the character has a scar/bruise/additional element on the face or is a non Korean model(You can notice by the non nuclear white skin).
3)lastly any thing that breaks looks like hardened earth. The artist usually uses the same patterns even if the material broken is different (he does vary a bit with metallic elements)

Each chapter usually has a funny moment, a dull one, Various face closeups, meme-ish poses... almost as if it were a checklist .I can't say I didn't enjoy some of them, but apart from the bright and some funny ones (the res of the funny moments totally ruin the mood) The rest of theforced moments are very predictible (just as the argument).

What I dislike the most are the fights ,instead of adding tension they take it away .It has an initial fase of a character one-sidedly being beaten down with lots of posing scenes (almost like an MCU movie) ,then a flashback or dull remarks/thoughts ,and lastly a quite decent conclusion(It's the remarks that ruin it for me, together with the fights being dragged out).

The characters constantly getting beaten dulls it too much it makes if look like the thousands of other school fighting manhwas. And it certainly doesn't make sense if abilities are supposed to be hidden .Even more if you have in mind the reason why Kaiden is weak (most abilities presented aren't endurance oriented especially in the Mc's case).

there’s one thing I have to say: the comedy is great.
Seeing a proud, powerful warrior turn into a fat cat and do... cat things.... is just beautiful

but that’s pretty much the only good thing about this webcomic. The author’s writing skills aren’t that great.
Expect a lot of explaining instead of showing... Due to that scenes which could have been great ended up being just... boring.
This isn’t worth writing a long review.
The only thing worth reading here is the comedy. If you want to give it a shot, feel free to do so, don’t expect anything extraordinary tho.
